Erna Lilje is a Sydney based artist that has worked in a variety of media. These diverse forms emerge from a common thread that the artist describes as re-psychling. Re-psychling is a perspective that fore grounds the potential of things to have many more applications than those for which they were made.

In practice this approach entails the wilful repurposing of anything and everything. Erna works as research assistant, primarily in the field of Chytrid research and microscopy. She has occupied similar scientific support roles in neuropathology and histopathology. Her own research interests are in the field of archaeology with a focus on museum collections of Pacific cultural material.
